Gary Wilkerson, Jr. (Teaching Artist- Screenwriting Facilitator) is a writer, performer, and podcast enthusiast who hails from Daytona Beach, FL. For four years he performed on a skating adagio team, as well as other acts, in Florida State’s Flying High Circus. But every clown must hang up their nose at graduation. After receiving his Masters in Screenwriting from Florida State University he moved out to Los Angeles and has since collaborated on web series’ and shorts, as well as assisting showrunners on multiple television shows. In 2018 he was the recipient of the Roger Ebert Fellowship at the Sundance Institute. Gary has made it his mission to tell authentic stories about black bodies and the broad spectrum that exists within the African diaspora.
