Crystani Freeman is the Executive Assistant at Get Lit – Words Ignite, where she supports the organization’s mission to inspire literacy, wellness, and creativity through Spoken Word. A cultural storyteller from Los Angeles County, she brings the same passion for amplifying voices in the Hip Hop and R&B music scene to her work at Get Lit. She bridges culture, community, and storytelling to connect people through the power of words and performance.

Her artistic journey began early with roles in stage plays such as Sarafina at Amazing Grace Conservatory and The Prodigal Son, along with dance recitals at Courtney’s School of Dance. Growing up in a musical family, with a father who was a pianist and music director, she began writing lyrics at 11 and performing them at 14. She is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where she earned degrees in Community & Regional Development and Spanish, with a minor in Professional Writing.

Stepping from behind the mic to spotlight others, Crystani launched the Performer Spotlight Series at UC Davis, an Instagram project that highlighted local artists and built an engaged community, around authentic stories. She later created a dedicated fan platform for R&B singer-songwriter Jon B, which grew into a thriving hub of tour updates, interviews, and show recaps—earning direct connections with his team and expanding her professional network.

Crystani blends cultural insight with professional polish to create spaces where artists, fans, and communities connect—ensuring the cultural power of art continues to inspire the next generation.
