
Phil Angelides
Phil Angelides is a nationally recognized leader in public policy, finance, and sustainable development. As former California State Treasurer (1999–2007), he transformed the office into a powerhouse for progressive investment, directing over $26 billion to underserved communities and sustainable projects. He was a pioneer in green investing, launching early initiatives in clean energy and climate-conscious capital allocation. In 2009, he chaired the U.S. Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, producing a landmark report on the causes of the 2008 crisis, hailed as the definitive account of that era.
Phil is President of Riverview Capital Investments and a principal at EVC Partners, focused on clean energy and electric vehicle infrastructure. He has developed award-winning urban communities and utility-scale solar projects serving over 100,000 homes. A former Democratic nominee for Governor of California, he has long championed equity, education, and environmental progress. Phil serves on the boards of the Center for American Progress Action Fund, Climate United, and Get Lit, and is a lifelong advocate for social and climate justice.
