Uni(Verse) HAS LAUNCHED
The world's first poetry platform for community creativity and global learning has launched in select classrooms across Los Angeles.
This project is supported in part by the
National Endowment for the Arts.
Get Lit has lived closely with the problems of teen illiteracy and education inequity, inspiring Get Lit to create solutions: spoken word curricula and the online poetry platform Uni(verse).
Get Lit’s standards-based curricula puts student voices front and center. With Uni(verse), this groundbreaking method expands in size and scope: youth can score and comment on each other’s work, creating shareable portfolios of their poetry and growing as artists and scholars.
Uni(verse) is the world’s first EdTech and Media poetry platform for global learning and community creativity.
This platform brings the Get Lit curricula model to scale, ending silo'd learning and transforming literacy. By providing targeted, skills-based assessments through Get Lit’s ScoreMetrics, Uni(verse) supports students in creating their portfolios and creates new work success pathways.
Uni(verse) Classroom launches in select schools this year, and our waiting list is rapidly filling up for 2023.
Schools who bring Uni(verse) to their classrooms gain access to over 50 video lessons per course led by youth of diverse backgrounds, a library of over 250 classic and contemporary poems, and links to hundreds of Get Lit Minute podcasts hosted and narrated by youth. All of this, enabled in the LMS cartridge of your choice.
